The extension housing seal is on the rear-most part of the transmission where the driveshaft yoke penetrates into. If circulation is present, transmission lubricant will be dripping from the rear of the transmission area where the seal is located. You'll have to unplug the driveshaft next; to remove the seal for the extension housing, use seal removal tool and make sure that you do not damage splines on the input shaft of the transmission. On the manual transmissions, there are shifter extensions on the rear part which may need a deep-reach puller usually a two jaw or three jaw puller. Replace the new extension housing seal by hammering it into place with a seal driver or a large deep socket, the seal must be inserted into the bore squarely and flush with the bore. Last, apply oil on the lip of the seal and then replace the driveshaft.
