The extension housing seal is on the rear-most part of the transmission where the driveshaft yoke penetrates into. If circulation is present, transmission lubricant will be dripping from the rear of the transmission area where the seal is located. You'll have to unplug the driveshaft next; to remove the seal for the extension housing, use seal removal tool and make sure that you do not damage splines on the input shaft of the transmission.
